The CULR consistently adheres to the correct educational direction, clearly defining the "one body, two wings" development pattern with talent cultivation and discipline construction as the main body, and trade union cadre training and think tank construction as the two wings. The goal is to cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents with strong political qualities, deep labor sentiments, solid professional foundations, and outstanding practical abilities. The CULR emphasizes both education and teaching, continuously optimizes and enriches classroom teaching resources, deepens the reform of teaching methods, strengthens innovation and entrepreneurship education and practical experimental teaching, enhances international exchange and cooperation in talent cultivation, promotes cross-disciplinary learning for students, fortifies students' will and character training, and strengthens the classified guidance for student development, thereby effectively improving the quality of talent cultivation.

The CULR consists of 14 schools, including the School of Marxism, School of Labor Union, School of Labor Relations and Human Resources, Law School, School of Labor Economics, School of Public Policy and Management, School of Safety Engineering, School of Social Work, School of Culture and Communication, School of Hotel Management, School of Computer Science, School of Trade Union Cadres Training , and School of Model Workers (School of Craftsmen and School of Continuing Education), along with one Department of Public Teaching.. It offers 25 general undergraduate majors in Labor Relations; Human Resource Management; Business Administration; Economics; Labor Economics; Financial Management; Law; Labor and Social Security; Administration; Political Science and Administration; Social Work; Sociology; Safety Engineering; Occupational Health Engineering; Chinese Language and Literature; Journalism, Drama, Film and Television Literature; Hotel Management; Computer Science and Technology; Ideological and Political Education; Emergency Response Technology and Management; Labor Education; Tourism Management; Labor Management and Public Education; Applied Statistics; Trade Union Studies. And two diploma programs are respectively Hotel Management & Digital Operations and Tourism English.

The university offers seven national first-class undergraduate majors (Labor Relations, Law, Human Resource Management, Social Work, Journalism, Safety Engineering, Labor and Social Security) and six Beijing first-class undergraduate majors (Social Work, Labor and Social Security, Economics, Business Administration, Administrative Management, Hospitality Management), in addition to two special majors (Law and Labor Relations) accredited by the Ministry of Education. It also features one national experimental teaching demonstration center, five Beijing excellent teaching teams, namely "Teaching Team of Ideological and Political Theory Course", "Educational Team of Training Innovative Talents in Cultural Communication", "Teaching Team of Labor Law and Social Security Law", "Teaching Team of Social Work (Undergraduate Class of Model Workers) of China Academy of Labor Relations", and "Core Teaching Team for Training Trade Union Cadres of China University of Labor Relations", two experimental teaching demonstration centers of Beijing higher educational institutions, namely "Experimental Teaching Center for Coordination and Development of Labor Relations" and "Experimental Teaching Center for Cultural Communication", and two municipal off-campus talent cultivation bases for Beijing higher educational institutions, namely, North Lingyun Industrial Group Co., Ltd. and Beijing Zhongrui Huantai Technology Co., Ltd.

The CULR continuously strengthens the construction of the teacher team, actively introduces outstanding talents at home and abroad, increases the training of young and middle-aged teachers, and optimizes the structure of the teaching staff. Among the current teachers, 44.26% hold the title of associate professor or above, and 57.96% have a doctoral degree. As of April 2024, there are fourteen recipients of special allowances from the State Council, four experts from the Teaching Steering Committee for Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, one recipient of the Ministry of Education's "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" fund, ten provincial-level teaching masters, six outstanding teachers in Beijing, three young teaching masters in Beijing, and eighteen selected participants in the Beijing Youth Talent Program.

The CULR attaches great importance to educational and teaching reforms, continuously improves the construction of the innovation and entrepreneurship education system, strengthens practical teaching and industry-university-research cooperation, and builds a talent training system more conducive to student development. In the past five years, the CULR has won more than ten provincial and ministerial-level teaching achievement awards. The CULR has signed cooperation agreements on industry-university-research programs with more than 80 entities, including various levels of government departments, trade unions, judicial organs and procuratorates, and large enterprises in Beijing. The CULR successfully passed the undergraduate teaching work assessment and evaluation of the Ministry of Education in 2018. As a pioneer of the university group, we have been fully involved in the drafting of the Implementation Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Comprehensively Strengthening Labor Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era and the Guidelines for Labor Education in Primary and Secondary Schools. We have undertaken the major project of reform and innovation in undergraduate teaching in Beijing's higher education institutions, the construction of the implementation system of labor education in universities in the new era, and the CULR's "Five Ones" labor education practice cases have been promoted nationwide by the Ministry of Education. The quality of student training and employment has been continuously improving. In the past five years, students have won nearly a hundred awards in various important competitions and published papers publicly. The average employment rate of graduates with a bachelor's degree is 97.77%.
