From April 21 to 27, the CULR held the 2019 Russian Trade Union Cadres Training Course. Mr. Alexander Safonov, Vice President of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, led a delegation of 23 Russian trade union cadres to participate in the course.
The President Liu Xiangbing and Vice President Wu Wanxiong of the CULR met with the Russian delegation. President Liu Xiangbing warmly welcomed the the visit of the delegation to China, fully affirmed the long-standing cooperative relationship and close academic exchanges between the CULR and the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, and looked forward to further cooperation in the future. During the meeting, President Liu Xiangbing recalled the visit to Russia for exchanges in 2018 and expressed deep condolences to the late Honorary President Nikolai Grychenko.
During the training, Professors Yang Dongmei and Li Wenpei, Associate Professors Qiao Jian and Zhao Qiusheng from the CULR, and Professor Fan Jingguang from the National Center for Occupational Safety and Health, NHC delivered lectures. Aligning with the CULR's specialties in "Trade Union+" and "Labor+", they respectively lectured on "Interpretation of the Spirit of the 17th National Congress of Chinese Trade Unions", "Overview of Chinese Trade Union Legislation", "China’s Experience in Building Harmonious Labor Relations", "Labor Protection by Chinese Trade Unions", and "Current Status and Outlook of Occupational Health in China”, and conducted in-depth exchanges with the students, sparking lively discussions and interactions with the participants.
At the graduation ceremony, Vice President Wu Wanxiong presented graduation certificates to all the students.
During the training period, the delegation also had face-to-face exchanges with representatives of the CULR’s undergraduate class of model workers, visited the Workers' Service Center of Beijing Federation of Trade Unions, Beijing Gas, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the historical museum of the CULR.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. The successful holding of the Russian cadres training course has actively promoted the experiences of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and the development of trade unions with Chinese characteristics. It has also facilitated mutual understanding between Chinese and Russian trade unions and their officials, laying a more solid foundation for maintaining close and friendly exchanges between our two universities.
The Academy of Labor and Social Relations is affiliated with the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, the largest national labor organization in Russia. It has similarities with the CULR in terms of background, professional settings, and cadre training. Over the years, it has maintained a friendly cooperation and regular exchange relationship with the CULR.
