On April 8 to 14, a delegation of 15 Russian trade union cadres came to our unviersity for study and exchange, focusing on the exchange of training of union cadres. The delegation members mainly included the students of the "Future Union Cadre Reserve Talent Program" organized by the Academy of Labor and Social Relations commissioned by the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia.
Liu Xiangbing, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of our unviersity, vice presidents of Liu Yufang and Wu Wanxiong met with the Russian delegation. President Liu Xiangbing extended a warm welcome to the delegation and fully affirmed the long-standing cooperation and close academic exchanges between the two universities in China and Russia. He looked forward to exploration and cooperation in more fields between the two sides.
Professor Yang Dongmei, Professor Jiang Ying, Professor Lin Yanling and Associate Professor Zhao Qiusheng delivered special lectures on the four topics of the establishment and functions of China's trade unions, the spirit of the CPC 19th National Congress, the background and path of China's trade union reform and the status of China's occupational health and safety respectively. The delegation members listened carefully to the lectures and had a lively interaction with the instructors. In the closing ceremony, Professor Yang Dongmei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, issued a study certificate to them on behalf of our school.
During the study, the delegation also visited the Commission of Agricultural, Forestry, Water Conservancy and Meteorological Workers' Union of All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the BDA Federation of Trade Unions, Goldwind Technology, a new energy technology company, and the campus of our unviersity in Zhuozhou.
The visit of the Russian trade union cadres delegation was a useful attempt of our unviersity for the training of international trade union cadres, which actively publicized the experience of building socialist trade unions with Chinese characteristics and promoted the mutual understanding of trade unions between China and Russia, as well as the mutual learning between trade union cadres of the two countries, laying the foundation for our unviersity to continue to carry out training programs for international trade union cadres in the future.
The Academy of Labor and Social Relations is affiliated to Russia's largest national trade union organization, Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia. It has similarities with our unviersity in terms of trade union background, discipline settings and training of trade union cadres, which has maintained cooperation and mutual visits with our unviersity for many years.
