On November 12th, the exchange meeting between our university and the delegation from the Japan International Labor Foundation was held in the lecture hall on the 8th floor of Zhiyuan Building. Inspector Xu Enyi of the International Department of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, Masayuki Shioda, Executive Director of the Japan International Labor Foundation, and Wu Wanxiong, the Vice President of our university attended the meeting. A total of more than 40 people include members of the Japanese delegation, relevant staff from the International Department of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and representatives of teachers and students from our university also participated in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Wu Wanxiong.
The theme of this seminar was "Harmonious Labor Relations Building, Population Aging and the Social Security System Development". Masayuki Shioda, Executive Director of the Japan International Labor Foundation, introduced the history of Japan’s labor union movement and economic development through the presentation of some cases, analyzed the current situation of Japanese labor unions from the aspects of employment status, the composition of labor unions, the standard of union dues and the changes of average annual income of the workers in recent years, and shared the functions and roles of Japanese labor unions. Qiao Jian, Director of the International Office of Cooperation and Exchange of our university mainly explained the transformation and development of China’s labor relations since the reform and opening up, introduced the transformation based on the characteristics of deregulation and the flexibility of the labor market, and exchanged ideas about the basic experience and adjustment model of China’s labor relations transformation. Dr. Bao Chunlei of the Chinese Academy of Labor and Social Security introduced the basic situation of China's population aging with the title of "China's Population Aging and the Development of the Human Resources of the Elderly", analyzed the current situation of the development of the human resources of the elderly through data and put forward reasonable suggestions based on actual problems. Koichi Koyama, Project Manager of the Japan International Labor Foundation, exchanged the basic concepts of the Japanese social security system, the Japanese social insurance system and the Japanese living security system.
During the exchange session, teachers from our university and the Japanese representatives interacted with each other actively. The participants spoke freely, had heated discussions and delved into the main topic of the meeting.
The Japan International Labor Foundation was established in 1989. It is a group that specializes in international labor exchanges and is jointly funded by the Japan Federation of Trade Unions, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
