On May 15, the International Academic Symposium on "Social Partnership: International Standards and Belarusian National Practice" was held in both online and offline forms. Yuri Senko, chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union Federation delivered the opening remark. The symposium was attended by Igor Starovoytov, deputy minister of labor and social protection of Belarus, Antyukh Arsentyevich, deputy general manager of the non-commercial organization "Union of Industrializes and Entrepreneurs (Employees)", and Santos Ereche, president of the San Paulo Health Workers' Union, together with more than 50 experts and scholars from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Brazil, China and other countries.
The symposium focused on the theory and practice of social partnership, and had in-depth discussions on the core topics such as the practice of freedom of association under the international legal framework, Belarus' experience of forming social partnership, and innovative mechanisms to adjust labor relations. Seven experts and scholars including Professor Mikhail Vladimirovich Miasnikovich, academician of Belarus' National Academy of Sciences, Professor Grigory Alexievich Vasilievich, Andrei Vladimirovich Savinen, vice chairman of The Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus and an international relations expert, and Li Na and Ding Wanjing, teachers from the Law School of CULR, made thematic presentations on the socio-economic impact and tripartite coordination mechanism of social partnership in their respective countries.
Dr. Li Na presented a lecture titled "Study on Issues of Pension Rights for Employees of New Employment Forms in China in the Digitalization Context" to deeply analyze the new challenges to labor rights protection in the digital economy era. Dr. Ding Wanjing presented a lecture titled "Challenges and Solutions of Protecting Laborer's Rights and Interests by Trade Unions in the Artificial Intelligence Era" to explore the new requirements of technological transformation on rights protection by trade unions.
This symposium provided a valuable platform for international academic exchanges to CULR teachers. It not only facilitated the CULR-MISTO academic exchanges, and enhanced CULR's reputation and influence in the international academic community, thereby accumulating important experience for cultivating professional talents with international competitiveness.
