From July 14 to 21, CULR organized a group of 8 teachers and students to visit Purdue University in the United States for scientific research training and exchange.
During the visit, Professor WANG Hong from Purdue University introduced the faculty, professional level, organizational structure of Purdue’s Department of Agricultural Economics and the training and exchange program. Professor Mark Worde explained the latest research methods in academic research. Professor WANG Jiying brought a wonderful academic lecture on the comparison of Chinese and American cultures to our teachers and students, comparing the two countries’ diet culture, historical culture, economic policy and political system, which further deepens the teachers and students’ understanding of American history and culture.
Under the program, students and teachers of CULR also visited the R&D center, the nanotechnology center, and the bioscience center of Purdur University, Caterpillar, Agricultural Credit Bank, Indiana State Government, State Council, State Supreme Court, State History Museum, Chicago Board of Trade, Federal Reserve Bank, etc. At the end of the activities, Purdue University awarded certificates to students of CULR.
Through a series of training, exchange and investigation activities, teachers and students of CULR have not only improved their academic research capability, but also strengthened their understanding of American politics, economy, culture and society. This training exchange in the United States is the first between CULR and Purdue University, which has laid a solid foundation for further cooperation and exchange between the two universities.
