At the invitation of the CULR, Ms. Nina Kuzmina, Vice President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and President of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, led a delegation of four to visit CULR from November 18 to 21.
The Russian delegation attached great importance to this visit, looking forward to further strengthening cooperation with the CULR and discussing specific collaborative projects between the two universities. On the afternoon of November 18, the delegation held discussions with some faculty representatives. On the morning of November 19, President Li Deqi, Vice President Liu Yufang, and heads of the Foreign Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, and the Institute of Trade Union Cadre Training, had formal discussions with the delegation. Both sides had in-depth discussions and exchanges on cooperation in various aspects such as undergraduate and graduate student exchange programs, international forums for students, summer social practice programs for students, regular visits between leaders of the two universities, organizing academic lectures by exchanging teachers, and sharing journal materials. Preliminary intentions were reached on the specific implementation of some of these programs. During the meeting, a new cooperation framework agreement between the two universities was also signed.
On the morning of November 20, Professor Basaraleva from the Russian delegation gave a lecture on corporate governance to students majoring in Finance and Management in the School of Economics and Management. The classroom atmosphere was lively, and the students responded well. In the afternoon, the delegation also held discussions with graduate students and teachers from the Graduate School, focusing on topics such as mutual recognition of graduate student credits between the two universities and summer social practice programs in Russia.
During the visit, Qu Zengguo, Party Secretary of the CULR, specially met with the Russian delegation to congratulate them on signing the new cooperation agreement between the two universities. He expressed that the CULR will further strengthen cooperation with the Academy of Labor and Social Relations to provide more influential exchange programs for teachers and students from both universities.
The Academy of Labor and Social Relations is affiliated with the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and was founded in 1919. In the 21st century, the University underwent significant reforms in its educational positioning, discipline construction, and talent cultivation goals to adapt to the transition to a market economy and changes in the labor movement, becoming the highest institution of union education in Russia.
