From February 18 to 27, at the invitation of the Faculty of Modern Chinese Studies, the Aichi University in Japan, a delegation of 26 teachers and students from THE CULR, led by two teachers, Wang Shoujun and Sun Guilei, went to Nagoya, Toyota, and Toyohashi in Japan for a 9-day social practice activity.
The CULR’s students are divided into the corporate team and the cultural team. They, together with students from the Aichi University in Japan, visited many schools, enterprises and institutions, including the Nagoya campus of the Aichi University, Toyota Municipal Temple Elementary School, Sakuraki High School, KANEFUSA Corporation Limited, KAGOME Corporation Limited, TOYOTA Motor Corporation Limited, as well as the Sino Japanese University Dictionary Compilation Institute and Toyota City Education Commission. During the visit, the CULR’s students learned from, exchanged and discussed with their Japanese peers the corporate culture and work safety in some enterprises in Aichi, Japan as well as cultural inheritance education in the Japanese society.
On February 25, at the special report meeting held at the Aichi University, students from both universities carefully reported on their research results and experiences under the guidance of their teachers. Japanese teachers and students highly praised the CULR’s students for their remarkable research results.
At the seminar, Professor Kazuhiko Tomasu, Vice President of the Aichi University, Associate Professor Sun Guilei of the School of Safety Engineering at the CULR, Mr. Abe Satoru, Dean of the Faculty of Modern Chinese Studies at the Aichi University in Japan, as well as student representatives from China and Japan Wang Jun and Maeda Tomoya, gave speeches on a number of topics, such as continuously strengthening cultural exchanges between Chinese and Japanese university students, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between young people from both countries, and working together to carry out talent cultivation and educational cooperation. Professor Gao Mingjie from the Faculty of Modern Chinese Studies at the Aichi University in Japan summarized and commented on the research results, fully affirming the critical spirit and rigorous and pragmatic academic spirit demonstrated by Chinese and Japanese university students during their internship and investigation period.The CULR's team leader, Associate Professor Wang Shoujun, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the CULR to the Aichi University for its great support for this event and the cooperation over the years, and exchanged souvenirs with the Aichi University.
This is the third time the CULR has organized teachers and students to conduct social practice visits at the Aichi University in Japan. Since 2015, a two-way social inspection and exchange mechanism has been established between the two universities, effectively enhancing friendly exchanges between Chinese and Japanese students and improving their social investigation ability and skills.
