On the morning of July 16, CULR held a coordination meeting to promote the application of foreign student recruitment qualification in 2020. WU Wanxiong, Vice President of CULR, and a total of 13 directors of relevant departments attended the meeting.

In his concluding speech, Vice President WU Wanxiong pointed out that, recruiting and educating foreign students is one of the important indicators to measure a college or an university’s level of international development, and it is also an important measure for CULR to realize the vision of “building the school into a domestic first-class and internationally renowned university in the field of labor relations and trade unions on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its founding in 2029”. Vice President WU Wanxiong required all relevant departments to carry out preparatory work, improve their work according to the set schedule, update relevant systems, and fully cooperate with the investigation and inspection work of the departments in charge of the work of foreign students. He hopes that, with the joint effort of all departments, we could obtain the qualification for recruiting foreign students this year, actively coordinate with the overall arrangements for foreign exchanges of the state and the ACFTU, and provide education to more international friends and international trade union cadres who know about China and love China.

During the meeting, QIAO Jian, Director of the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation, introduced the opportunities and challenges faced by CULR in international exchanges under the current situation, and analyzed the advantages and difficulties of CULR in applying for the qualification of recruiting foreign students. He pointed out that, in the preparatory stage, relevant departments need to update data, enrich and improve information, and take into account the consistency, operability, and connectivity between the written institutions and the actual operation. Other attendees of the meeting highly agreed with the further promotion of the application for the qualification of foreign student recruitment, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the training plan for foreign students, the teaching plan, the allocation of teachers, the preparatory Chinese language class and other issues in the qualification application work.
