To enhance the academic exchanges of our university students, expand their international perspectives, improve their academic capability, and encourage them to actively engage in scientific research, from August 22 to 27, the Department of Scientific Research and Foreign Affairs Office organized 17 faculty members and students to conduct a special training and exchange activity in Singapore on "Research Ability Development and Enhancement for Students". In the six-day activity, students were divided into three thematic groups: "Cultivating University Students' Research Abilities", "University Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship", and "Industry-Academia-Research Cooperative Education". Each group was guided by a teacher throughout the process.
During the exchange, our university's faculty and students visited the university-enterprise joint laboratory and a NEWater plant in Singapore, experienced the innovative "problem heuristic" teaching model of Republic Polytechnic, and gained a comprehensive understanding of the advanced concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship education and university student research models at Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University. Under the guidance of teachers, each research group wrote a special research report according to the research situation and the research theme.
This exchange activity not only broadened the students' horizons, allowing them to learn about the innovation and entrepreneurship education concepts, university student research models, and advanced experiences of Industry-Academia-Research cooperation in Singaporean universities, but also laid a solid foundation for further cooperation between our university and relevant educational institutions in Singapore.
