From May 22nd to May 24th, Liu Xiangbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of CULR, led a delegation of four to attend the centenary celebration of the Russian Institute of Labor and Social Relations, and paid a visit to the Sociological Department of Moscow State University.
On the afternoon of May 22nd, President Liu Xiangbing and his delegation paid a visit to the Sociological Department of Moscow University. The Sociological Department was founded in 1989 by Professor Dofrinkov, Russian Honorary Professor and academician of the Academy of Social Sciences. It consists of 10 teaching departments and 3 research laboratories, and more than 270 full-time professors, associate professors, lecturers and scientific researchers, including many academicians of the Academy of Social Sciences. With its influential academic schools and modern teaching methods in line with the international standards, the department has cultivated a large number of elite talents for Russian society and the countries where oversea students come from. During the visit, the Deputy Dean of Sociological Department, Professor Pawel Sergeyevich, introduced the department's situation in curriculum setting, research direction and international exchanges and cooperation. The two sides also had in-depth discussion on forms and features of labor alienation in digitalized society, analysis of the "migrant workers" in the two countries, formation and development of the social security system in modern China and post-socialist Russia, and determined cooperation directions in project research, graduate programs and academic conferences, etc. During the visit, President Liu Xiangbing also had an in-depth exchange of views with Professor Mihajer Wahirievich of the Sociological Department.
On May 23rd, President Liu Xiangbing and his delegation were invited to attend the centenary celebration of the Russian Institute of Labor and Social Relations. Hundreds of representatives from trade unions and labor organizations from China, France, Vietnam, Mongolia, Belarus, the International Labor Organization and other countries and regions also attended the ceremony.
On behalf of CULR, President Liu Xiangbing expressed his high respect and warm congratulations to all the teachers, students and alumni of the Russian Academy of Labor and Social Relations at the ceremony. He pointed out that the two schools shared a high degree of similarity in development history, school orientation, trade union background, curriculum setting, training of trade union cadres and the mission of think tank. The close communication, exchanges and integration between teachers and students in values and professional education had helped forge a profound friendship. He reviewed the history of cooperation between the two schools and pointed out that, early as the founding of All-China Federation of Trade Unions Cadre School, the predecessor of CULR, a large number of experts and scholars from the Russian Academy of Labor and Social Relations and other organizations of the Soviet Union started courses, improved disciplines and trained teachers for our school. Among them, Professor Koskin assisted our school to establish the earliest labor economics discipline in China, and published the first textbook Labor Economics for the former Soviet Union after he came back from lecturing in our school. In the new era, the two universities have made increasingly frequent and close exchanges and communications, carried out many substantive activities in academic conferences, training of trade union cadres and postgraduate education, and entered a fast track of bilateral cooperation and exchanges. President Liu Xiangbing wished Russia Academy of Labor and Social Relations brilliant achievements in national rejuvenation and realizing the well-being of the Russian people, and wished the friendship can be lifted to new heights under the general background of the friendly ties between the two nations. On behalf of CULR, he presented a calligraphy work "Centenary for further progress".
On the morning of may 24th, Nina Kuzmina, Vice President of Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and Rector of Russian Academy of Labor and Social Relations, greeted the delegation. President Liu Xiangbing congratulated the success of the 100th anniversary celebration, and affirmed the achievements made in cooperative fields, hoped that the two sides could engage in more in-depth cooperation in decent work, tripartite collaboration mechanism and research on Chinese worker's movement history, conduct staff exchanges, joint graduate programs and joint researches, and continue to make substantive cooperation in 2020. At the end, President Liu Xiangbing invited Rector Nina Kuzmina to participate in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of CULR, to which she readily accepted.
During the stay, President Liu Xiangbing and his delegation also had extensive exchanges with the trade union organizations and research institutions of other countries participating in the celebration events, introduced the achievements of Chinese trade unions and CULR's advantages in talent training, teaching and scientific research, which effectively deepened the international community's recognition and understanding of our school, and further expanded the international influence of our school. The delegation also included Professor Yang Dongmei, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Dean of Trade Union College, Professor Xu Yanli, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and Professor Wen Xiaoyi, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor Relations.
