On the afternoon of October 11, Yury Shevtsov, First Vice Chancellor of Belarusian International University MITSO, led a delegation of three members to visit CULR on the occasion of CULR celebrating the 75th anniversary. The delegation was received by Liu Xiangbing, Secretary of the Party Committee of CULR and Li Ke, Member of the Party Standing Committee and Vice President. The meeting was attended by the persons in charge of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the Law School and the School of Culture and Communication.
At the meeting, Secretary Liu Xiangbing warmly welcomed the delegation of MISTO's First Vice Chancellor Yury Shevtsov, and fully affirmed the past friendly exchanges between the two universities. He said that the two universities share the same background of trade union, and are highly consistent in disciplinary settings and union cadre training. He looked forward to more intercollegiate cooperation and exchanges.
Vice President Li Ke introduced CULR's development history, present status and the recent progress and achievements of disciplinary construction, talent training, international exchanges and cooperation, etc. He said that after years of accumulation, CULR has developed an international exchange pattern of "trade union plus" and "labor plus". He looked forward to pragmatic intercollegiate collaboration on teaching of Chinese language, training of union cadres, and joint training program for students.
First Vice Chancellor Yury Shevtsov expressed gratitude for the warm reception, and congratulations on CULR's achievements over the past 75 years. He shared information about the recent progress of MITSO, and deeply discussed concrete cooperation areas and programs. He hoped that both universities further strengthen communication and exchange, develop the planning for cooperation projects, and secure the projects in place as quickly as possible. He handed over to Secretary Liu Xiangbing a congratulatory letter signed by Pozdniakov Vladimir Mihajlovic, Vice Chairman of Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions, on the 75th anniversary of CULR.
Both sides had in-depth discussions and exchange of ideas on student exchange program, scientific research collaboration, international academic meetings and online lectures, etc.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the exhibition of "New Era Comes from Hard Work": CULR studies and implements the spirit of Chinese President Xi Jinping's reply letter, and the university history museum.
MITSO is among the earliest universities of trade union that established friendly partnership with CULR. Formerly a senior trade union school, it was certified by the Ministry of Education in 1993, began the training of economic administrators and experts in 2002, and provided higher education since 2008. Its majors mainly include international law, labor law, social security law, economics and management, logistics and marketing, human resources, etc. MITSO has similarities with CULR in trade union background, training of union cadres, etc. Over the years, MITSO has formed friendly cooperative relationships with universities from more than 20 countries including CULR, Russian State Social University, Vietnam Trade Union University, Mongolia University of Labor and Social Relations, Azerbaijan University of Labor and Social Relations and Kazakhstan University of Labor and Social Relations, carrying out a number of relevant activities such as training of union cadres, exchange of teachers and students, and teaching research.
