To promote bilateral exchanges between China and Switzerland in the field of labor, Mr. Boris Zuercher, State Secretary of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research led a tripartite delegation to visit China. On September 4th, at the invitation of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, President Liu Xiangbing and his delegation held an academic exchange on "The Future of the Labor World, Social Dialogue and Skill Demand in the Digital Economy" with the tripartite delegation of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research. Li Xiaobo, Deputy Director of International Department and Zhao Changchang, Director of European Department of All-China Federation of Trade Unions, attended the event. Heads of relevant departments and teachers of our school also participated. The academic exchange was chaired by Deputy Director Li Xiaobo.
President Liu Xiangbing extended a warm welcome to the Swiss delegation and made a speech entitled "The Future of the Labor World, Social Dialogue and Skill Demand in the Digital Economy: China's Experience". He communicated on important topics such as main features of the future work condition in China's digital economy, the digital economy's regulation and trade unions' participation in protecting the rights and interests of workers under new working modes, deepening vocational education to facilitate the construction of industrial workers. He also introduced CULR's history, philosophy, curriculum, think tank construction, foreign exchange, etc.
Mr. Zuercher gave a detailed introduction on the digital economy’s impact on the labor market, the ILO centenary and a series of Swiss policies to commemorate the ILO centenary. Mr. Luca Sililiano, Chief Secretary of the Swedish Trade Union Confederation, explained the impact of digitalization and automation on employment, the Swiss tripartite consultative model, the Swiss Labor law system and the lifelong learning system.
At the meeting, the two sides also had in-depth discussions on digital economy and the future of labor, education and other topics.
