On June 6, local time in Vietnam, at the invitation of the Trade Union University, a delegation of four from the CULR led by Vice President Liu Lihong conducted a friendly visit to the university. Pham Van Ha, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Trade Union University, met with the delegation.
At the meeting, Vice President Liu Lihong expressed the purpose of this visit and provided general information on the development history, educational positioning, and talent cultivation quality of the CULR. She pointed out that with the formulation and implementation of the 13th Five-Year Plan for the development of our university, we have accelerated the development pace. In view of the many similarities between the two universities, we can, in the future, further expand cooperation scope and increase cooperation in areas such as international student training, teacher visits and exchanges, academic seminars, and training for trade union cadres. Vice President Liu introduced in detail "the Belt and Road National and Regional Trade Union Colleges Alliance" initiated by our university, hoping that the Trade Union University would actively join the Alliance. She also invited the Trade Union University to participate in the academic exchange meeting on labor legislation for countries and regions involved in "the Belt and Road Initiative" to be held in our school in late November this year.
Secretary Pham Van Ha warmly welcomes our delegation. He reviewed the numerous achievements in cooperation and exchanges between the two universities in the past, echoed Vice President Liu Lihong's suggestions, and hoped to further deepen cooperation with the CULR on the field teacher visits, recruitment of international students, and other areas. Secretary Pham Van Ha expressed great expectations of joining the trade union colleges alliance initiated by our university.
In the afternoon, the CULR delegation had a discussion with representatives of teachers from the Faculties of Trade Union, Business Administration, and Safety Engineering of the Trade Union University. Professor Liu Yuanwen from the School of Labor Union, Associate Professor Chang Dou from the School of Safety Engineering, and Associate Professor Gui Junyu from the School of Business Administration had extensive exchanges with teachers from the Trade Union University on various issues such as the training methods for trade union cadres in China, the main ways to coordinate labor relations, the current situation of safety work management in the CULR, talent training models, and employment opportunities for graduates.
After the meeting, the delegation headed by Vice President Liu Lihong was shown around the campus, teaching and living facilities, and had exchanges with some teachers and students.
The Trade Union University is one of the top ten universities in Hanoi. The university currently has over 300 professional teachers and over 8,000 students. It has 9 faculties and departments including Safety Engineering, Business Administration, Social Work, Labor Relations, and Law, with 5 master's and 5 doctoral programs. In addition, the university receives international students from Cambodia and Laos to study on campus every year, with more than 100 already. The Department of Business Administration has a relatively large enrollment scale at the university and the safety engineering major is relatively popular. Only offered in two universities in Vietnam, the safety engineering major has a very high graduate employment rate. Currently, six classes of master's students in safety engineering have graduated from this faculty.
