From March 20 to 23, Sun Lu, a journalism student of Class 2009 from the School of Cultural Communication, Dong Xiuming, an economics student of Class 2010 from the School of Economic Management, and Chen Huanxin, a labor and social security student of Class 2010 from the School of Public Policy and Management, were invited to Moscow to participate in the International Youth Forum "Social and Labor Issues 2013" hosted by the Academy of Labor and Social Relations. More than 100 young people from China, Russia, France, Germany, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Vietnam and other countries participated in the forum.
At the opening ceremony held on the morning of the 21st, the president of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations delivered a welcome speech, and the delegates successively introduced the situation of their universities. Students of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations presented the results of their research on labor and social issues. As a student representative from the CULR, Sun Lu of the School of Cultural Communication, introduced the history, characteristics and teaching philosophy of the CULR.
On the afternoon of the 21st, the participants were divided into three language groups: Russian, English, and German. In the English group discussion, Russian representatives shared their thoughts on youth employment and sub-cultural issues in the youth labor market in Russia, French representatives introduced the problems in the French education system, and Vietnamese representatives analyzed the current situation and reasons for the low employment rate in Vietnam. Sun Lu, Dong Xiuming, and Chen Huaxin, respectively, took the topics of "Cultural Empowerment of New-generation Migrant Workers", "Changes of Youth Policy in China", and "The Study of Youth College Students’ Medical Insurance in Beijing" to elaborate on the new characteristics of labor culture and the positive significance of cultural empowerment in the transition period, the changes in China's youth policy in different contexts since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the current situation of the medical security system for college students in Beijing.
While in Moscow, the student delegates visited Moscow State University, Lenin Hill, the Kremlin, Red Square, and more.
The International Youth Forum is an influential academic forum for university students hosted by the Academy of Labor and Social Relations. This year, for the fourth time, the CULR has selected students to participate in the forum.
