Professor Feng Tongqing paid an academic visit to Germany from November 24 to December 1, 2010 upon invitation. During the visit, Professor Feng Tongqing visited scholars at local universities and labor research institutions in Oldenburg, Bremen, and Hamburg, and attended the international academic conference on "China and Trade Unions" held in Oldenburg on November 27. The conference was jointly organized by the German Institute of International Labor and Industrial Relations and the University of Oldenburg. Dozens of researchers and union workers from Germany, Austria, and China attended the conference.
The conference covers various topics such as the European labor market and China's economic development, China's rapid development and path choices, the history of Chinese trade unions and analysis, labor issues and trade unions in China, discussion on the characteristics of Chinese trade unions, labor and trade unions in China, labor and social events in Guangdong, China and prospects analysis, exchange and mutual learning between Chinese trade unions and German trade unions, international solidarity in interactions with Chinese trade unions, and several points on China-German trade union dialogue.
Professor Feng Tongqing delivered a keynote speech titled "Chinese Workers and Trade Unions Since the Reform and Opening Up" at the conference and engaged in discussions with attendees.
