On July 30, at the invitation of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), a delegation of six people led by Tong Van Bang, a member of the Presidium and Director of the Organization Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (hereinafter referred to as VGCL), conducted an exchange visit to China University of Labor Relations (CULR). Guo Xiaoshi, Deputy Director of the International Liaison Department of the ACFTU, joined in receiving the delegation. Vice President Li Ke, also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC CULR Committee, received the VGCL delegation. Leaders and faculty representatives from the School of trade unions, Training School for Trade Union Cadres, Scientific Research Department (Institute of Labor Relations and Trade Unions), and Office of International Exchange and Cooperation participated in the exchange.
Li Ke conveyed greetings and a warm welcome from Party Secretary Liu Xiangbing and President Fu Deyin to the VGCL delegation, and reviewed the long-standing friendship between CULR and Vietnam Trade Unions University. He introduced the university's achievements in historical development, distinctive educational features, discipline construction, talent cultivation, and trade union cadre education and training. He stated that in the future, both sides could deepen cooperation in areas such as trade union cadre training, country-specific trade union research, international student enrollment, and joint talent cultivation, and jointly explore new approaches to trade union work in the new era.
Tong Van Bang expressed sincere gratitude for CULR's warm reception and congratulated the university on its achievements over the past 76 years. He introduced recent developments of the VGCL in educational institution construction, program design, and trade union cadre training. He noted that with the continuous deepening of China-Vietnam cooperation, he hoped to use this visit as an opportunity to further expand exchanges, identify areas of cooperation in labor, trade unions, and trade union cadre education and training, and achieve more fruitful results.
During the discussions, both sides engaged in in-depth interactive exchanges on program development, student employment, undergraduate education for model workers, trade union cadre training, and the cultivation of international students studying in China.
Before the discussions, the delegation visited CULR's History Museum and the themed exhibition "The New Era Is Created Through Hard Work - CULR's Study and Implementation of the Guiding Principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Reply Letter".
The VGCL, founded in July 1929, is a mass organization under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and currently has 11 million members. For a long time, the VGCL, as a trade union organization following the socialist trade union development path, has enjoyed strong theoretical alignment and broad consensus with Chinese trade unions. Leaders of both organizations make regular reciprocal visits, and multiple local and industrial trade union organizations under both parties have maintained friendly relations.
