On the afternoon of June 7, 2012, Cheng Yiu-tong, Professor Emeritus and Honorary President of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions, was invited to give a lecture entitled Trade Unions' Role in Governance in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region under "One Country, Two Systems" for all teachers and students in the multi-functional hall of the Zhonggong Plaza. Cheng made an in-depth analysis and explanation of the political participation of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions, its historical background, reasons for and demands for political participation, operation process, results and influence of political participation, and so on.
Professor Cheng's lectures are thorough and practical, conveying the context of the political participation process of trade unions in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions' dedication to labor interests and demands. During the interactive session, Professor Cheng also addressed questions from our faculty and students, which greatly benefited all.
