The All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the IG Metall jointly held the international seminar on globalization and union strategies in Shanghai on November 29 and 30, 2011. More than 40 representatives from the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and its branches in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces, as well as the International Metal Workers' Federation, IG Metall, Swedish Metalworkers' Union, Brazil Metalworkers Union under the Unified Workers' Central of Brazil, United Steelworkers of America, Confederation of Japan Automobile Workers Union, and the JCM-Japan Council of Metalworkers' Unions attended the seminar.
The seminar discussed topics including "Globalization and the World of Labor", "Globalization and Union Strategies", "International Exchange of Union Work Experience", and "Prospects for the Future Development of Unions". Zhao Jianjie, Editor-in-chief of the Journal of the China University of Labor Relations, was invited to attend the seminar and gave a keynote speech titled "The World of Labor in the Perspective of Economic Globalization - The Situation of Labor Relations in China and Union Countermeasures".
