On behalf of CULR, President Fu Deyin extended a warm welcome to President Leth Xayaphone and his delegation. He noted that just a week earlier, Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos, visited China to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and participate in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, which fully reflected the close ties and profound friendship between China and Laos. He reviewed the deep friendship established over years of exchanges and cooperation between CULR and the LFTU, and introduced the university's history as an institution directly under the ACFTU, its distinctive educational features, and its achievements in discipline development, talent cultivation, trade union cadre training, and theoretical research. He expressed the hope to further deepen pragmatic cooperation with the LFTU in such areas as trade union cadre training, labor relations, and regional and country-specific studies, so as to jointly promote the development of China-Laos trade union undertakings, enhance the well-being of workers in both countries, and inject new vitality into the global trade union cause.
Leth Xayaphone expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from the university and extended sincere congratulations on the brilliant achievements it had made in the past. He highly acknowledged the outstanding contributions the university has made in cultivating a large number of talents for trade unions at all levels and believed that the university's experience in trade union education is worth learning from. He hoped that in the future, the Trade Union Development Institute under the LFTU would establish a cooperative relationship with the university, and work together in trade union cadre team building, scientific research cooperation, and talent training in labor relations, contributing their strengths.
During the exchange, Dai Xiaoxiao, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Training School for Trade Union Cadres, and Xu Yanli, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, introduced CULR's work in trade union cadre training, international student recruitment and education, as well as regional and country-specific studies. During the visit, Li Ke accompanied the delegation on a tour of the CULR's History Museum and the themed exhibition "The New Era Is Created Through Hard Work - CULR's Study and Implementation of the Guiding Principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Reply Letter".
