On May 24th and 28th, Dean of Korea Labor Research Institute Kiu Sik Bae and three others visited our school upon invitation.
On May 28th, Liu Xiangbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of our university, Yan Xiaofei and Jiang Ying, members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, met with the delegation. Teachers of Trade Union and Labor Relations Department and relevant personnel of Party and Government Office participated in the discussion chaired by Professor Yan Xiaofei.
President Liu Xiangbing extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He said that CULR and the Korea Labor Institute had been friends for many years and hoped to strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation. He invited Dean Kiu Sik Bae to visit China again in October this year to attend the celebration of the 70th anniversary of CULR, to which Kiu Sik Bae readily agreed.
At the meeting, the two sides communicated on the specific form, research direction, program type, exchange mechanism and teacher visits of future scientific research cooperation programs, reaching consensus on in-depth cooperation and planning to start cooperation on specific teacher research programs before the end of the year.
On May 24th, Dean Kiu Sik Bae and his delegation held a seminar in our school with the theme of "Asian Economic Industrialization and the Future Labor World". More than 20 students, teachers and scholars attended the seminar. On behalf of our school, Vice President Wu Wanxiong met with the delegation.
At the seminar, Dean Kiu Sik Bae introduced the basic situation of Korea Labor Institute and made special reports with the title of "Asian Economic Industrialization and Labor" and "Digital Economy and Future Work" with Dr. Ji Wenwen, a teacher of our school. During the exchange session, the two sides actively interacted and carried out in-depth communication centering on the theme of the event.
Established in August 1988, the Korea Labor Institute is funded by the Korean government to conduct academic research and policy consulting. It is the only national research institute and think tank in the field of labor relations and employment in Korea. Its research fields mainly include labor relations, labor security, labor law and so on. It is the most important labor science research institution in South Korea. The Korea Labor Institute has a close relationship with our school and formally signed a cooperation agreement in 2017.
