On the afternoon of Oct. 29th, a group of 6 people including Professor Dag Mikkelsen (Dean of the Law School of the University of Oslo), Professor Ma Liya, Professor Zhou Yong (the Project Director), Yin Baohu (Director of the China Legal Exchange Center) and Wang Wei (Deputy Director of the China Legal Exchange Center) visited our school and exchanged ideas with us about the study of Chinese Social Law and the development of the rule of law. Wu Wanxiong (Vice Principal of our school) and Jiang Ying (member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Director of the Academic Affairs Office) received the delegation.
On behalf of the school, Mr. Wu Wanxiong extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and expressed his gratitude to the China Law Society for its arrangement and support. He hoped that the Law School of the University of Oslo and our school would have more in-depth academic exchanges and cooperation in the future and bear fruitful results in the field of Social Law research.
Mr. Yin Baohu introduced to the Norwegian side the achievements of our school in the study of Chinese Labor Law and labor relations. He believed that this exchange will surely lay a good foundation for further cooperation between the two sides in the future.
Teachers represent our Law School also participated in the discussion with the Norwegian experts. Mr. Wang Wei hosted the seminar and introduced the history, organization and tasks of the China Law Society. Professor Shen Jianfeng introduced the history and positioning of our school, as well as the discipline development of our Law School. Associate Professor Xiao Zhu introduced the general situation of China's labor legislation and the important role the "Labor Contract Law" played in the adjustment of China's labor relations by law. Dean Dag introduced the situation of the Law School of the University of Oslo, the history of Norwegian Labor Law and the status quo of labor relations, especially the impact of EU Labor Law on Norwegian Labor Law and the significance of Trade Unions in the adjustment of labor relations in Norway.
During the seminar, the two sides exchanged ideas on issues such as the practice of international labor standards in China, China's anti-discrimination activities in employment, the adjustment of labor relations by law in state-owned enterprise and special labor protection for migrant workers. In the end, members of our school presented the "Exploring the Advancement of the Rule of Law in Labor Relation---a Collection of Essays in Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the China University of Labor Relations" to Dean Dag as a gift.
