At the invitation of the Taiwan Police Institute, Professor Meng Yanhua, Director of the School of Security Engineering, participated in the 4th Academic Conference on Cross-Straits Police Studies and Security Management held in Taipei on November 10 and 11, 2011.
The conference covered the latest developments in security management, emergency management theory research, as well as methods and techniques for crisis response in the Chinese mainland and China's Taiwan Region. Professor Meng Yanhua delivered a speech titled "The Research and Analysis of Crowd Evacuation in Stampede Accidents of Large-scale Activities, introducing the simulation analysis of crowd evacuation at large-scale events using evacuation models.
During the conference, Professor Meng Yanhua engaged in extensive exchanges and discussions with experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait on issues related to security management, emergency management, and more. Through the exchanges, both sides had a better understanding of the development trends and cooperation prospects in security management and emergency management between the two sides of the Taiwan strait.
