On January 27, at the invitation of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), Mr. Oliver Röpke, Director of the ILO Bureau for Workers' Activities (ACTRAV), led a delegation to CULR for an exchange visit. Wu Wanxiong, Member of the Standing Committee of CULR Party Committee and Vice President, met with the delegation. Representatives from the International Department of ACFTU, as well as personnel-in-charge and faculty representatives from relevant units of CULR—including the School of Labor Relations and Human Resources, School of Public Administration, School of Safety Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Trade Union Cadres Training, and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation—participated in the exchange activity.

Wu Wanxiong extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. He reviewed the long-standing friendly cooperation between CULR and the ILO, and introduced the university's development history, distinctive advantages, as well as its disciplinary achievements, talent cultivation and scientific research innovation in the fields of labor and trade unions. He emphasized that the digital era is driving profound changes in the labor field, and expressed the expectation that both sides would deepen cooperation on cutting-edge issues such as AI-empowered trade union work, employment governance in the digital economy, and innovation in labor security policies, and work together to promote global decent work and social justice.

Oliver Röpke expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception from CULR and highly recognized the university's achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research and social services in the fields of labor and trade unions. He introduced the current work priorities of ACTRAV, pointing out that China's practices in the digital economy sector have important demonstration significance, and expressed the expectation that both sides would strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as technological progress and workers' rights and interests protection.

During the talks, the two sides conducted pragmatic exchanges on issues such as the application of AI in trade union work, platform economy governance, and occupational safety and health protection.

Prior to the meeting, the delegation visited the university's history museum and the thematic exhibition "The New Era is Forged Through Hard Work"—an exhibition dedicated to studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply letter.
