On the morning of January 13, the first Foreign Affairs Work Conference of our university was held at the Lecture Hall of the Student Dormitory in Beijing Campus. Zhang Guoxian, Director-General of the International Department of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), and university leaders Qu Zengguo, Li Deqi, Li Qingzhong, Liu Yufang, Liu Lihong and Wu Wanxiong attended the conference. The conference was chaired by President Li Deqi and attended by heads of functional departments, heads of departments and teacher representatives.
Vice President Wu Wanxiong made a report on the foreign affairs work on behalf of the university, summarized and reviewed the overall situation of the university's foreign exchange work since its transition and upgrade to a bachelor's degree university, analyzed the current problems and shortcomings of the university's foreign affairs work, and put forward the goals and tasks of the university's foreign affairs work in the next stage and the 13th Five-Year Plan period.
Director-General Zhang Guoxian fully affirmed the university's foreign affairs work, briefly introduced the current situation of the international labor movement and the main tasks of the trade union's foreign affairs work under the new opportunities and challenges, and hoped that our university could play the role of a think tank for international exchanges and create a new situation for foreign exchanges and cooperation.
Qiao Jian, Director of the School of Labor Relations and Human Resources, Jiang Ying, Director of the Law School, Li Shuang, Director of the School of Culture and Communication, and Meng Yanhua, Director of the School of Safety Engineering, made speeches successively. They exchanged the current situation of the foreign exchange work of their schools, put forward ideas of future foreign exchange work, and offered suggestions for the improvement of the overall foreign exchange work of our university. In response to the relevant questions raised by the participants, Dai Xiaoxiao, Director of the Personnel Department, explained the university's relevant policies on visiting studies and further studies for faculty and staff.
In the concluding speech, Qu Zengguo, Party Secretary of the CULR, pointed out that doing a good job in foreign affairs was an important part of our university's development during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. He hoped that all schools would work together to scientifically formulate and conscientiously implement the foreign affairs work plan, carry out foreign exchange work in various forms and channels, and constantly promote our university's foreign exchange work to a new level.
