From May 20 to 24, at the invitation of the Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) in Japan, Vice President Liu Lihong of China University of Labor Relations (CULR) led a delegation of 5 people to Japan to carry out inter-school cooperation and exchanges. Vice President Fei Liu of the KCGI accompanied the delegation throughout the visit.
On May 20, the delegation arrived at the KCGI. Vice President Yoichi Terashita of the KCGI warmly received Vice President Liu Lihong and her delegation. The two sides exchanged views on inter-school strategic cooperation, teaching and exchange cooperation, talent cultivation, and student admission and employment. Professor Yasuhiro Takeda from the KCGI participated in the discussion and exchange session.
On May 21, the delegation visited the Kyoto Station Satellite Campus of the KCGI, which mainly focuses on undergraduate education. Vice President Liu Lihong stated in her speech that the two universities have a good foundation for cooperation in talent cultivation, and academic exchange, especially in the field of computer talent cultivation. Over 150 students have had experiences of exchange and study at the KCGI. Therefore, she has high expectations for establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism and deepening cooperation projects in the future. Vice President Yoichi Terashita highly praised the comprehensive qualities exhibited by the CULR's international students and fully affirmed the achievements of the 15-year cooperation between the two universities. The two sides also discussed and reached preliminary cooperation intentions on various aspects such as short-term summer exchange programs for students, joint talent cultivation (especially the "3+1+1 cultivation model"), mutual exchange of teachers for academic visits and lectures, and credit recognition. During the meeting, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement on student short-term exchange programs. Vice President Liu Lihong invited Vice President Yoichi Terashita to visit the CULR on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the CULR, and Vice President Yoichi Terashita gladly accepted the invitation.
On May 22, the delegation visited the Hyakumanben Campus of the KCGI, which mainly focuses on training master's students. Vice President Liu Lihong led the delegation to go deep into the front line of teaching by attending classes to listen to lectures, exchanging views with teachers of big data, animation, Japanese language learning, etc., and having discussions with Chinese student representatives who are currently participating in short-term exchanges at the school, inquiring about their study and life in Japan.
On May 23, the delegation held discussions with Professor Koji Ueda, an animation expert and the head of the teaching and research group of the KCGI. Professor Koji Ueda introduced the talent cultivation model and achievements of the school in the fields of anime design and production, and anime applications, especially in commercial advertising and game design. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on computer software development, enterprise management, and marketing related to the anime industry. Vice President Liu Lihong said that in the future, the two universities can actively explore interdisciplinary and multi-mode cooperation projects based on the existing cooperation in computer science, providing a more international platform and perspective for student training and development.
The delegation also visited the history museum, library, anime dubbing studio, and computer exhibition hall of the KCGI, gaining a deep understanding of the school's development history, educational philosophy, curriculum, faculty strength, etc. They conducted on-site inspections of the accommodation conditions and environment for international students, understanding the safety measures, living conditions, and other issues that students studying in Japan are generally concerned about. They visited the school-enterprise cooperation companies to comprehensively understand the school's integrated education model of production, teaching, and research.
During this visit, Vice President Liu Lihong and her delegation had extensive and in-depth exchanges with the KCGI, consolidating the cooperation foundation between the two universities and laying a solid foundation for future interdisciplinary and multi-field cooperation and development between the two universitiess.
