From July 15 to 18, 2011, the Global Development Youth Summit, organized by the Education Association for China Tomorrow, the Beijing Sci-Tech Education Promotional Association, and the Beijing Municipal UNESCO Clubs Association, was held at the Overseas Chinese College of Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing. A delegation composed of six students from the China University of Labor Relations (CULR), including Yu Yiquan from the School of Public Policy and Management, Wu Yiwen and Wang Yangdong from the School of Business Administration, and Peng Yang, Qiu Chen, and Zou Yi from the School of Culture and Communication, attended the event.
The China-US Youth Exchange Forum aims to deepen cross-cultural exchanges between young Chinese people and young people from other countries around the world. The young Chinese and American representatives discussed topics including youth, innovation and communication; mission and unity, Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations; and green, cooperation and sustainability. Paul Kriss from the World Bank, Mukundan Pillay from the World Health Organization, Min Bahadur Bista from UNESCO, and other representatives delivered wonderful speeches at the forum. The delegation from the CULR presented a group report titled "Cross-Cultural Exchanges" on the first day of the summit.
The summit brought together 300 young students from China and other countries, including outstanding students from Ivy League schools in the United States. This event further enhanced the exchange between the students of the CULR and other universities.
