From October 13th to 16th, Professor Nina Kuzmina, Vice President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and Rector of Russian Academy of Labor and Social Relations, led a delegation of three to attend in a series of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of CULR and conduct academic exchanges at our invitation.
On the morning of October 13th, Professor Nina Kuzmina attended the celebration event and delivered a speech on behalf of foreign partner universities. She sincerely hoped that the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities could become the opportunity to further promote the mutually-beneficial cooperation between the people and the youth of China and Russia, facilitate the development of education and science of the two countries and lift the bilateral cooperation to a new height.
On the morning of October 14th, Rector Nina Kuzmina and her delegation visited All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and was greeted by Jiang Guangping, Vice Chairman, Secretary of the Secretariat and member of the Leading Party Members' Group. Xu Enyi, Inspector of ACFTU International Department and Wu Wanxiong, Vice President of CULR also attended the meeting. And relevant personnel from ACFTU International Department and the International Exchange and Cooperation Office (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Branch) of our school participated in the discussion.
Professor Nina Kuzmina thanked ACFTU and our school for the warm hospitality. She said it was a great honor to lead the delegation to visit China on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the founding of the China University of Labor Relations. The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and the Russian Academy of Labor and Social Relations have paid close attention to China's achievements in economic and socialist construction in recent years, and the friendly cooperation between China and Russia in political, economic and cultural exchanges has made great progress. She pointed out that the trade unions of the two countries had a lot in common and the space for future exchanges and cooperation would be very broad. The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia attached great importance to and supported the exchanges between Chinese and Russian Trade Union colleges. On the basis of the current cooperation framework agreement signed by the two universities, the two sides could carry out more practical research and cooperation to further consolidate and develop their friendship.
Vice President Jiang Guangping extended a warm welcome to Professor Nina Kuzmina and her delegation. He said, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC and under the leadership of the CPC, Chinese trade union activities had made substantial progress and gained valuable experience. Especially since the 18th CPC National Congress, and with General Secretary Xi's important thought on the working class and the union work in particular, the Chinese trade unions had insisted on the trade union development path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, unified and encouraged trade union workers to strive for their Chinese dreams, realizing remarkable achievements in various fields. He also pointed out that CULR had played an important role in training trade union cadres, especially in the academic education of model workers. General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply to the students of CULR Model Worker's Undergraduate class pointed out the clear direction for continuing to excel in the academic education of model workers. The friendly and cooperative relations between the trade unions of China and the Russian Federation of Independent Trade Unions was an important part of the friendly relations between the two countries. With the two peoples' opinions and minds closer together, the trade unions of the two countries should carry forward their traditional friendship and implement the consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries based on the BRI. ACFTU would continue to support the academic exchanges between China University of Labor Relations and Russian Institute of Labor and Social Relations, and looked forward to greater achievements in the cooperation between the two schools.
On the afternoon of October 14th, Party Secretary Liu Xiangbing warmly greeted professor Nina Kuzmina and her delegation. Vice President Wu Wanxiong accompanied during the meeting, and heads of relevant departments attended the meeting as well.
Secretary Liu Xiangbing expressed gratitude to Professor Nina Kuzmina and her delegation for attending and delivering a speech in the celebration event of CULR's 70th anniversary. He reviewed the cooperation and exchanges between the two schools, as well as the profound friendship established during the process. He expressed his hope that on this basis, the two schools would continue to promote exchange and visits, deepen cooperation in trade union cadres and talent training, academic research and other aspects, share the research results and experience with each other, so as to lift the cooperation to a new level. Professor Nina Kuzmina congratulated our school on our 70th anniversary and praised the remarkable achievements over the past 70 years.
The two sides also discussed on the future development of joint talent training programs.
On the morning of October 15th, the Russian professors were invited to give a keynote lecture on the topic of "Economic Development and Labor Situation in Russia". The teachers and students had an in-depth discussion and an enthusiastic response.
The Russian Academy of Labor and Social Relations is affiliated to the largest national trade union organization in Russia -- the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia. It is similar to our school in terms of trade union background, curriculum setting and training of trade union cadres, and has maintained friendly cooperation and regular exchanges with our school over the years.
