On October 17, at the invitation of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), a delegation of 30 people led by Ms. Aly Vongnorbountham, Vice President of the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (hereinafter referred to as LFTU), visited our university. Vice President Wu Wanxiong received the delegation, and relevant leaders from the Institute of Trade Union Cadre Training and the School of Labor Union participated in the discussions and exchanges.
During the discussions, Vice President Wu Wanxiong warmly welcomed the LFTU delegation and briefly introduced the university's development history and the current situation of education and teaching. Li Bingbin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Trade Union Cadre Training, elaborated on the training efforts from the perspectives of training scale, training content and training objects. Associate Professor Ye Pengfei, Deputy Director of the School of Labor Union, briefed the delegation on the general situation and main work of China's trade unions. Vice President Aly Vongnorbountham expressed gratitude for the warm reception from our university and said that the teaching model and training mechanism for trade union cadres were very instructive for them. The two sides also had in-depth exchanges on other aspects of the training of trade union cadres. After the discussions, Vice President Wu Wanxiong accompanied the delegation to visit the campus and the university history museum, concluding the visit successfully.
The LFTU is a mass organization under the leadership of the People's Revolutionary Party, the ruling party of Laos. It was founded in 1956 and now has 126,000 members. The LFTU emphasizes the role of trade unions as a link, actively participates in and promotes economic reform, safeguards the legitimate interests of workers, and attaches importance to the development of friendly relations with Chinese trade unions.
