On August 16, the 18th International Seminar of Japan-China University Students was held in the first conference room on the fourth floor of Hefei Trade Union Building. Li Xiaobo, Deputy Director-General of the International Department of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), Shinichi Kawai, President of Aichi University in Japan, Liu Xiangbing, President of our university, and Wu Wanxiong, Vice President of our university, attended the event. The seminar was chaired by Professor Liu Bolin from Aichi University.
Li Xiaobo, Deputy Director-General of the International Department of the ACFTU, delivered a welcome speech. He hoped that young people would strengthen exchanges and communication through such non-governmental activities and contribute to the everlasting friendship between the Chinese and Japanese peoples!
In his speech, President Liu Xiangbing said that Renmin University of China is also a friendly university of Aichi University. As the newly-appointed president transferred from Renmin University of China, he feels a great affinity with Aichi University and is willing to work with President Shinichi Kawai to promote cooperation and development between the two universities and make new contributions to the learning and exchanges between the educational circles of the two countries.
Zhang Jing, Director of the Economic Examination Committee of Hefei Federation of Trade Unions, pointed out that this social practice is not only a learning and exchange event for Chinese and Japanese university students, but also an important channel for strengthening non-governmental exchanges between China and Japan and promoting friendly relations between the two peoples, thus deepening mutual understanding and exchanges.
The enterprise group, the urban group and the rural group from our university respectively presented research reports on the mechanisms for retaining talents in non-public enterprises, the happiness of Hefei residents and the analysis of the current situation of rural tourism development. Associate Professor Ye Pengfei, Deputy Director of the School of Labor Union of our university, made comments. He fully affirmed the perspectives of problem awareness, preliminary research, method application and comparative thinking that the three groups maintained in the research process. He also hoped that each group would be more rigorous in logical argumentation and more scientific in method application. Gao Mingjie, a teacher at Aichi University, also commented on the strengths and weaknesses of the three groups in detail, pointing out the direction for students to conduct more in-depth investigations.
In his closing speech, Vice President Wu Wanxiong attributed the successful hosting of the event to the strong support of local trade unions and the rigorous investigation attitude of students. He expressed his hope that both universities would make more contributions to the non-governmental exchanges between China and Japan!
