From February 19 to 26, a delegation of 28 students from the CULR headed by Professor Li Tao, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and Associate Professor Wang Li from the School of Business Administration, went to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for an 8-day innovative practice and study visit.
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is a public comprehensive university established in 1937 and one of the oldest universities in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. During their visit, students from the CULR walked into the classrooms of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to experience an English teaching environment. They learned courses such as "Leadership and Team Building", "Basic Mediation Skills for Labor Relations", "Internationalization Strategy of Chinese Private Enterprises", and "The Role of Human Resources in Enterprises - Human Resources Business Partners", and engaged in full exchanges with professors. At the end of the study visit, the students from the CULR gave presentations in English based on their learning topics. They won praise from the professors for their impressive classroom performance, English communication skills, professional knowledge level, and teamwork ability and were awarded course learning certificates.
At the UK Prudential, students completed their practical training sessions and systematically learned knowledge and skills in financial planning, marketing, and market analysis report writing. They personally experienced the gamified learning scenarios and scenario drills, and honed their ability to flexibly apply knowledge for problem-solving and collaborate with teams while completing group tasks. After the practical training session, Prudential issued enterprise certificates of practical training to the students.
During the period, the CULR's teachers and students also visited the Chinese Mainland University Student Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation established by the Enterprise Development Institute of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the University of Hong Kong. They exchanged ideas with students from the University of Hong Kong and learned about the political, economic, cultural, and legislative development in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
In addition, the CULR’s students demonstrated a positive and uplifting spiritual outlook. Through this study visit, they broadened their horizons, reaped friendships through teamwork, and gained a deeper understanding of the learning and living environment at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This is a valuable social practice experience. Students who have completed the learning and practical training tasks during the visit and met the assessment standards will receive one practical credit.
This academic exchange has opened up a precedent for the CULR’s students to go to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region for practical learning, kicked off educational exchanges between the CULR and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and is also a helpful exploration for the CULR to expand diversified practical teaching models.
