Recently, the notice on recruitment of international students of CULR was issued by Beijing Municipal Education Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Municipal Education Commission), which is an important milestone in the history of CULR’s education development and also one of the major breakthroughs that we has made in the internationalization of education in recent years , marking the further improvement of internationalization degree of running a university.

Since the 13^th Five-Year Plan of CULR, we has attached great importance to the application work and made long-term unremitting efforts to obtain the qualification of recruiting international students. In March 2020, we started the qualification declaration work. Under the careful preparation and cooperation of relevant departments, we actively conducted communication and exchanges with other closely colleges and universities. Meanwhile, according to the requirements of the Municipal Education Commission, we carefully prepared the teaching arrangements, and formulated management regulations for international students, including the enrollment and admission methods, student status management, visa and residence permit management, campus security management as well as accommodation management etc. Based on the above materials, we submitted the application report to the Municipal Education Commission.

On December 15, 2021, an expert group from the Municipal Education Commission, Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau came to CULR to hold a on-site review meeting on the recruitment of international students. After inspecting the teaching facilities and living environment such as classrooms, libraries, canteen and dormitories of international students in CULR, the experts spoke highly of the university-running philosophy and characteristics and campus environment, and gave policy interpretations and corresponding guidance with practical cases.

Carrying out the education of international students is not only the strategic demand of CULR to serve the construction of “four centers” of the capital and to cooperate with the overall deployment of ACFTU’s foreign exchanges, but also an effective way to enhance the level of internationalization of running a university and to play the role of serving the society. From now on, in accordance with the relevant regulations such as the “Administrative Measures for Universities' Enrollment and Cultivation of International Students” and “Administrative Measures for Universities' Enrollment and Cultivation of International Students in Colleges and Universities in Beijing”, we will establish and improve the system of recruitment, training, management and service for international students, improve the quality assurance system of international students studying in China, and continuously improve the quality of education and service management, for realizing the sustainable and healthy development of international education in China.
