From December 21 to 22, Yan Xiaofei, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Director of the Department of Scientific Research our university, and her delegation went to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to exchange views with the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (HKFTU), and to conduct MPA postgraduate teaching supervision and graduation thesis defenses. Zhao Zuping, Secretary of the General Party Branch and Executive Dean of the School of Public Policy and Management, as a teacher in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, accompanied the staff from the Department of Postgraduates to participate in the exchange.

On December 21, Director Yan Xiaofei and her delegation visited HKFTU and presented a letter of thanks and a commemorative plaque to HKFTU on behalf of our university, expressing gratitude for the assistance received during the floods in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. They visited the HKFTU headquarters, regional service and liaison office, and workers' club, gained a detailed understanding of the specific operation of the HKFTU training courses, and expressed their appreciation for HKFTU's determination and ability to fully mobilize various resources to safeguard the rights and interests of workers.

During the discussion, Chairman Kingsley Wong Kwok, Secretary General Ma Kwong Yu, Deputy Secretary General Ching Ngon Lai, Assistant Secretary General Chan Sao Iam, and relevant staff of HKFTU attended as representatives. Both sides had in-depth exchanges on the education and training of postgraduates in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, practical exchanges, and in-depth research and cooperation among teachers visiting Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Subsequently, Yan Xiaofei and her delegation exchanged views with more than ten postgraduates in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. They carefully listened to students' opinions and suggestions on postgraduate teaching arrangements, curriculum setting, and practical exchanges, and expressed their concern, expectations, and encouragement for postgraduates in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on behalf of our university's Party Committee.

On December 22, Li Junqing, a member of the National MPA Education Steering Committee, Leung Fu-wah, former Vice President of the HKFTU, Director Yan Xiaofei, Dean Zhao Zuping, and Associate Professor Xu Junwei from the School of Labor Relations and Human Resources participated in the 2024 Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Postgraduate Thesis Defense Conference for MPA as graduation thesis defense judges. Eight students participated in the defense in turn, and carefully listened to and recorded the valuable opinions raised by the judges. On this basis, they will carefully revise their theses and strengthen communication with their tutors to prepare for the second defense.
