On the morning of November 18, seven people, including Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Däubler of the University of Bremen in Germany and Dr. Christian Weis, Secretary of the International Office of IG Metall, discussed with our teachers at the CULR. The theme of this meetnig was collective bargaining and labor disputes in China and Germany. Professor Jiang Ying, director of the Law School, chaired the meeting.
Vice President Wu Wanxiong attended the meeting and delivered a speech. He warmly welcomed the German delegation and fully affirmed the friendly cooperation between the CULR and IG Metall.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Däubler presented a report entitled "Problems and Lessons of the German Collective Consultation System", which introduced the changes and challenges brought about by globalization and information technology to the German collective consultation system. Taking the metal-electrical industry as an example, Dr. Christian Weis gave a detailed explanation of the current situation, challenges and development ideas of German labor policy. Professor Jiang Ying, Director of the Law School, made a report on the subject of labor disputes, introducing the situation of labor disputes in China and the conception of the handling system. Professor Huang Renmin, Director of the School of Public Policy and Management, focused on the characteristics of China's collective consultation system. Associate Professor Cao Rong of the School of Labor Union focused on the current situation of the protection of the rights and interests of migrant workers, especially the problems existing in the process of collective consultation concerning migrant workers' wages. After that, the participating teachers of the CULR conducted in-depth discussions with German experts on issues related to the report.
Representatives from the Law School, the School of Labor Relations and Human Resources, the School of Labor Union, the School of Public Policy and Management, the School of Safety Engineering, and the School of Business Administration participated in the meeting.
