Mr. Zhang Maochang, Chairman of the Taiwan Confederation of Labor Unions, led a delegation of 16 people to visit the China University of Labor Relations (CULR) on May 26, 2009. Professor Yang Hanping, Vice President of the CULR, received the guests and introduced the basic situation of the university to the delegation. The two sides also discussed issues of common concerns such as cross-strait trade unions, labor and employment, and labor laws. Zhang Mo, Associate Professor and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Trade Union School, and Lin Yanling, a professor of the School of Labor Relations and Human Resources, participated in the meeting and exchange.
The Taiwan Confederation of Trade Unions was established in 2007, headquartered in Kaohsiung. It is a newly established island-wide trade union organization and has been actively involved in exchanges between trade union organizations across the Taiwan Strait in recent years.
