From June 25 to July 2, the Chinese Labor and Employment Relations Association organized a delegation of 13 teachers and students from the Chinese Culture University to the CULR for a one-week exchange and learning activity. Vice President Wu Wanxiong met with the delegation and teachers including Qiao Jian, Director of the School of Labor Relations and Human Resources, participated in the exchange activity.
Vice President Wu Wanxiong welcomed the teachers and students from the China’s Taiwan region, and briefly introduced the university's history, education and teaching, and international exchange and cooperation. He encouraged young students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to cherish a strong sense of labor, follow new trends and changes in the field of labor relations, and continue to deepen their learning and research exchanges.
At the exchange meeting, Qiao Jian, Director of the School of Labor Relations and Human Resources, pointed out that the Internet economy, which has a great attraction for investment, has driven the rapid growth of the capital economy and the creative economy and also posed new challenges to labor relations. Young researchers from both sides of the Straits should develop a stronger interest in the new environment, so that labor science research can be passed on from generation to generation. Professor Chen Zhengliang from the Chinese Culture University reviewed the historical evolution of exchange and learning between the two universities, and expressed high expectations for further cooperation.
Teachers Zheng Qiao, Guo Yuqiang, Sun Bo, and Niu Ling from the School of Labor Relations and Human Resources gave special lectures for teachers and students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, respectively on "The Transformation of Labor Relations in Chinese Mainland and the Current Situation of Collective Bargaining", "Human Resource Management from the Perspective of Traditional Chinese Culture", "Parallelism and Coexistence", and "New Challenges Brought by Age, Gender, and Poverty". These lectures provided a clear understanding of the current situation of labor relations in the Chinese mainland and the development of the labor market for teachers and students from the China’s Taiwan region. During the exchange event, the participants also had a heated discussion on legal benchmarks such as working hours, rest, and vacation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, flexibility in labor employment, sharing economy and labor relations, and career planning for college students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait. They formed a deep friendship during the event.
The cross-strait exchange and learning activities for young students engaging in labor studies jointly initiated by the Chinese Culture University and the CULR, officially began in 2011. These activities aim to assist young labor-majored students in China's Taiwan Region and the Chinese mainland in cross-regional and diversified learning, enhance their mutual understanding of the labor system, environment, and development status on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and facilitate the cultivation of new-era talents in the field of labor.
