At the invitation of the International University “MITSO”, from September 28 to October 5, students from the Law School, Liu Yifei, Jin Ting and Tan Tingting from the Class 2012 traveled to Minsk, the capital of Belarus, to participate in the 10th "Youth for Peace" International Law Competition. Nearly 40 candidates from 12 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania and Kazakhstan, also participated in the competition.
In the simulated confrontation, role setting, negotiation and other aspects of the competition, the CULR students made full use of their professional knowledge of international law and international humanitarian law, with excellent English skills, successfully completed the tasks, showed the competence of our students, and won the praise of the organizing committee and the participating team members from various countries.
During the competition, our students had extensive exchanges with students from various countries, which not only improved their professional quality, but also broadened their horizons and deepened their understanding of the cultures of other countries.
Upon arrival in Minsk, our delegation was warmly received by the organizers. In the "Ice-breaking Welcome Session" held by the organizers, our students performed the dance, The Butterfly Lovers, to the play of the Western musical instrument flute, which was appreciated by representatives of various countries. This competition is one of the most prestigious and large-scale international law Olympiads in Europe.
The competition is committed to improving the understanding and mastery of international humanitarian law among the world's young people, hoping to reach a consensus among the young people of all countries on maintaining world peace. Before departure for the competition, under the guidance of teachers Sun Deqiang, Li Wenpei, and Xiao Zhu from the Law School, the three students made full pre-match preparations.
