On the afternoon of March 28, CULR and Belarusian International University MITSO co-organized an online seminar for cooperation and exchanges on international students studying in China. The seminar was attended by first vice chancellor Yuri Shevtsov, vice chancellor for academic affairs Mikhail Yurochkin and vice chancellor for trade union affairs Roman Dapiro from MISTO, and Li Ke, a standing member of the party committee and vice president of CULR, and Dai Xiaoxiao, a standing member of CULR's party committee and secretary of the party general branch of the School of Trade Union Cadres Training, as well as department heads from the office of international exchange and cooperation, department of academic affairs, department of finance, Law School, and School of Culture and Communication.
Vice president Li Ke said in his opening remark that as important talent cultivation bases under the trade union systems in China and Belarus, the two universities have maintained a good relationship of cooperation and exchange for many years. On the occasion of CULR's 75th anniversary last year, we invited first vice chancellor Yuri Shevtsov to visit our university, which laid a solid foundation for enhancing mutual understanding and trust, and deepening cooperation between the two sides. On the basis of the initial cooperation intention reached last year, he looked forward to some substantive results this year.
First vice chancellor Yuri Shevtsov highly appreciated his visit to CULR last year, and affirmed the mutual complementary strengths in developing characteristic disciplines and resources of the two universities. He hoped that both sides seize the opportunity of signing a cooperation framework agreement to steadily advance the collaboration in talent cultivation, academic exchange and other fields, so as to further promote the internationalization of the two universities.
At the seminar, the two sides had in-depth discussions on the application requirements, application process, curriculum settings, credit recognition, scholarship policy, and student exchange for the Chinese language program for international students studying in China, and shared insights on international academic exchange and cooperation on union cadre training. This successful seminar further consolidated the partnership of the two universities, and facilitated communication, mutual trust and joint exploration for more cooperation possibilities, so as to cultivate high-quality international talents, and boost the high-quality development of education in both universities.
The Belarusian International University MITSO is among the earliest higher education institutions of trade union to establish friendly cooperative relations with CULR. Formerly the higher school of trade union, MISTO was accredited by the ministry of education, and started to offer training for administrative officials and experts in 2002. Its higher education commenced in 2008, with majors of international law, labor law, social security law, economy and management, logistics and marketing, human resource management, etc. MISTO shares similarities with CULR in terms of trade union background, discipline settings and union cadre training. Over the years, it has formed friendly cooperative relationships with universities in more than 20 countries, such as CULR, Russian Academy of Labor and Social Relations, Vietnam Trade Union University, Mongolian Labor and Social Relations Institute, Azerbaijan Labor and Social Relations Institute, Kazakhstan Labor and Social Relations Institute, to carry out a number of activities including union cadre training, exchange of teachers and students, academic workshop, etc.
