On the morning of April 26, Professor Kong Fanqing, Vice Rector of the City University of Macau, and Professor Cai Zhiming, Director of the Academic Affairs Office and Graduate Affairs, made a friendly visit to the CULR. Vice President Wu Wanxiong met with Vice Rector Kong and his delegation.
At the meeting, Vice President Wu Wanxiong welcomed Vice Rector Kong and his delegation. He pointed out that the City University of Macau is the first university in the Macao Special Administrative Region that has established a cooperative relationship with the CULR, and both sides have a broad cooperation space in areas such as teacher-student exchanges and academic research. Vice President Wu hoped that the two universities would cooperate sincerely, seek truth and pragmatism, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes on the basis of the cooperation agreement.
Vice Rector Kong Fanqing pointed out that the City University of Macau is an applied higher education institution mainly focused on humanities and social sciences, with strong disciplinary characteristics and resource advantages. It shares many similarities with the CULR in terms of development history, scale of education, and major settings, and they hoped to have close exchanges and strengthen cooperation between the two sides.
After the meeting, Vice Rector Kong Fanqing and Director Cai Zhiming held a lecture for students from the CULR, providing detailed information on the Macao Special Administrative Region, the development trends of higher education Macao Special Administrative Region, the development history, scale, departmental structure, resource advantages of the City University of Macau, and answered and explained specific questions of deep concern to the students, such as enrollment, interdisciplinary learning, scholarships, and graduation employment. The atmosphere was lively.
The City University of Macau is a comprehensive university, one of the three universities in the Macao Special Administrative Region that have been authorized to grant bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. It has 9 faculties and schools and 8 research institutes, including the Faculty of Business, the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Law School, the Faculty of International Tourism and Management, the School of Portuguese, the School of Urban Management, the School of Education, the International Open School, and the School of Continuing Education. This university became a contracted partner university of the CULR at the end of 2016.
