On November 8-10, 2013, the 17th Asian Social Forum and Seminar was held in Beijing. The theme of this seminar is Flexible Employment and Social Policy in East Asia. Nearly 60 representatives of trade unions and academia from South Korea, Japan, China's Taiwan Region and the Chinese mainland had in-depth exchanges on the topic. Relevant leaders of the Union of Education, Science, Culture, and Healthcare, and Sports under the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the China Workers' Center for International Exchange, and 10 faculty representatives from the relevant departments of the CULR participated in the seminar. Representative of the Law School made special presentations at the seminar and interacted with all attendees.

During the seminar, President Li Deqi and Professor Dong-One Kim, Vice President of Korea University, held consultations on establishing a friendly cooperative relationship between the two universities and carrying out academic exchanges between faculty and students, and initially reached a cooperation intention.
