At the invitation of the School of Safety Engineering, on January 8, 2013, a delegation of seven, including Professor Fan Guoshu, Vice President of the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, and Professor Chen Zhengren, Chairperson of the Department of Safety, Health and Environmental Engineering of the College of Engineering, visited the CULR for exchanges. Professor Liu Yufang, Vice President of the CULR, and Professor Meng Yanhua, Director of the School of Safety Engineering, met with guests from China’s Taiwan Region. Through exchanges and discussions, the two sides reached a preliminary intention on the joint training of students, including student exchange training, summer credit programs, accompanying classes and other training modes, as well as visiting teachers, scientific research cooperation, etc., further broadening the CULR's channels for external exchanges and cooperation.

The National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology is the first university of science and technology in Greater Kaohsiung. At present, there are 5 colleges, 15 academic departments, 15 doctoral classes, 27 research institutes, 14 on-the-job master courses and MBA, EMBA, IMBA and other master's programs in business administration under the College of Engineering, the College of Electrical and Information Technology, the College of Management, the College of Finance and the College of Foreign Languages.
